Troops of the Third Division of the National Army, in a joint, coordinated and inter-institutional operation with the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the regional prosecutor's Office of Cauca and the National Police, were able in recent hours to capture alias Camila, said to be the main ringleader of a support network of the residual organized armed group Jaime Martínez.
The operation was carried out within the framework of the bicentenary Operations Plan “Heroes de la Libertad” (heroes of freedom), and soldiers of the Infantry Battalion No. 7 General José Hilario López and the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) of Cauca, units of the twenty-ninth Brigade, attached to the specific command of Cauca, CECAU.
Thanks to the permanent monitoring of intelligence and the effective military maneuvers of our troops it was possible to find and capture the woman, who later was put into custody of the authorities. With this capture troops mitigate the early alerts 026 of 2018 and 018 of 2020.
Alias Camila woul have participated in the colective homicideof six people, last aguost in the municipality Uribe, in El Tambo. Similarly, she is accused of collaborating in various criminal acts such as the possible kidnapping of three people last August in the municipality of Uribe, the convening of clandestine meetings in order to adjust the production prices of coca growers in the region and illegal checkpoints on the road leading from the municipality El Tambo to the municipality of Uribe. In addition to this and after the capture of alias Maritza, alias Camila would be in charge of collecting money from private companies and social leaders through extortion.
