In order to reforest the areas degraded by illegal mining and thus contribute to the conservation of a sustainable ecosystem, the National Army and its Fe en Colombia (Faith in Colombia) program, in coordination with the departmental government, the mayor of the municipality of Zaragoza, Mineros Aluvial, Empresa de Mineros de Jobo S.A.S, Empresa Minero de Cuturú S.A.S, Jóvenes Hacedores de Paz (Sehpaz), Aguas del Bagre, Vigías Ambientales and the inhabitants, they planted 1500 trees.
This reforestation activity is part of a series of environmental activities that the National Army and Fe en Colombia have carried out in this municipality, hand in hand with the peasant inhabitants, which aim to curb deforestation in the country and contribute to the recovery of Colombian forests and fauna.
In the same way, the professionals of the different institutions provided environmental advice to twelve peasant children in the sector, teaching them the correct way to care the seedlings that were sown in four hectares. This plant material was donated by the Government of Antioquia and the Regional Autonomous Corporation of the Center of Antioquia – Corantioquia.
