More than 130 tons of the illicit substances have been found in the Colombian Caribbean this year.
Coast Guard units of Coveñas find more than a ton of cocaine hydrochloride, on board a go - Fast boat that had been abandoned by its crew on the beaches of the municipality of San Bernardo del Viento, in the Department of Cordoba, due to the heavy work of the authorities in the area.
Thanks to valuable information it was possible to find the illegal boat equipped with great capacity for Transport, which was on the beaches of San Bernardo del Viento, Córdoba. At the scene, the crew began the rigorous inspections detecting that inside it stored 46 bags with the illicit substance and 32 plastic barrels with approximately 1,200 gallons of gasoline.
The boat, along with the material found, were taken to the coast Guard Station Coveñas, where officials of the Technical investigations Corps of the office of the Prosecutor conducted a review of the content of the bags and the Preliminary Testing, leaving positive results for 1,152 kg of cocaine hydrochloride.
With this finding, the units of the Caribbean Naval Force prevent USD 35,000,000 from entering the financial structures of organizations that commit crimes in this area.
The Colombian Navy, through its units attached to the Caribbean Naval Force, will continue to carried out maritime operations that contribute to prevent the use of maritime spaces by organizations outlaw that intend to make illegal use of the waters of the Colombian Caribbean Sea. It also invites the community to report through line 146 any suspicious activity that threatens the safety, good physical condition and life of the inhabitants.
