Within the framework of this initiative, it is expected to contribute with more than 600,000 seedlings to the ecosystems of Cundinamarca
In recent days, 500 trees were planted by men of the Mechanized Cavalry Group No.10 Tequendama of the Thirteenth Brigade, together with the local dairy company Alquería, in order to strengthen the subsoil of milk-producing farms.
In total, 180 million trees is the goal set by the Ministry of the Environment for 2021, to which this program aims to provide 600,000 seedlings in more than 15,000 hectares of dairy farms.
In this project, through the Peasant Training program, the company has benefited more than 5,500 families, and one of the most important results for Alquería, now with the support of the National Army, is to be the first company in the dairy sector to sign a Zero Deforestation agreement with producers.
The aim is to contribute efficiently to the preservation of the environment, since “to undertake operations that ensure a sustainable operation not only responds to the demands of consumers but also to the sense of social and ethical responsibility that moves us in Alquería”, stated the coordinator of Sueños de Alquería (Dreams of Alquería), Carlos Enrique Cavelier.
This is the second planting promoted by the company in coordination with our soldiers. In the previous one 500 trees were planted in the Enrique Cavelier plant, in Cajicá, Cundinamarca.
