The operations were concentrated on Huila roads.
The coordinated work on the road, called the Plan Ípsilon, has been effective to fight the different links in the chain of drug trafficking. The operations are conducted by troops of the Ninth Brigade of the National Army and units of the Police of Huila; they have left out of the illicit market 183 kilograms of narcotic drugs, they have seized 290 million pesos, approximately, and they have captured in flagrante delicto five people.
In the first operation, conducted in the village of Paloquemao, in the municipality of Isnos, soldiers of the Infantry Battalion No.27 Magdalena, and police officers of the traffic and transport section, made the stop signal to a van-type vehicle, which after the search, was found to have modifications in the roof.
In the illegal hideout four packages with COP $ 289,840,000 were being transported. The driver, identified as Albeiro Enríquez Calvache, didn’t managed to prove the origin and legality of the money. The man was moving on the Jamundí-Pitalito route.
The operations went to the village Cedar Pitalito, Huila, where the inspection of a vehicle, led to find 155 packages with 159 kilos of marijuana that were transported under sacks of fruits and vegetables and in the front doors. A man, Jhoan Gerardo León, 28, was captured.
In the same sector were caught two men identified as Cristhián Felipe Jiménez Peña, 20, and Lucio Fernando Jiménez Medina, 32, who drove a motorcycle carrying 500 grams of marijuana.
Simultaneously, in the village of El Dinde in the municipality of La Plata, west of Huila, soldiers of the Infantry Battalion N. 26 Cacique Pigoanza and units of the Huila Police Department, made the signal to stop to a man who was on motorcycle, he was with a bag, where troops found two packages of marijuana (9.5 kilos).
In the same place and evading the road checkpoints, a man abandoned a package with 14.5 kilos of marijuana, a narcotic that was put into custody of the authority for judicial work.
The military operations carried out against drug trafficking in the Department of Huila, manage to reduce the financing capacity of criminal groups, with the finding of 183 kilos of marijuana with an approximate cost of 73 million pesos, thus reducing the income and marketing of narcotics in the department.
