124 members of outlaw groups have been captured during 2021 within the framework of the operation Plan de Intervención Buenaventura.
Those captured would be the main heads of criminal activities in the Port.
Troops of the Colombian Navy in a coordinated, joint and interinstitutional work with the National Army, the National Police and the Attorney General's Office, carried out 14 raids simultaneously in seven communes of Buenaventura, which led to the seizure of two submachine rifles, a pistol, two revolvers, a shotgun, a grenade, 166 cartridges of different calibers, two communication radios, four cell phones and 250 doses of marijuana. 11 alleged members of the Organized Crime Group (GDO) were captured: three of them had an arrest warrant and eight were captured in flagrante delicto. A minor was rescued.
The individuals must respond for the crimes of homicide, extortion, trafficking and carrying of firearms and marketing of narcotics. The armament, ammunition, the captured individuals and the minor were put into custody of the authorities.
