With the implementation of this milk production project, 33 former FARC members and their families will be benefited.
In the village of San Rafael, municipality of Ovejas, Montes de María, the local government of Sucre and the Colombian Agency for Reintegration (ARN) with the accompaniment of the Colombian Navy, made the official delivery of equipment for the production of milk to former combatants of outlaw groups.
The National Government, the local government and the Military Forces, through the comprehensive, sustainable and transitional process, carry out projects that benefit former combatants of outlaw armed groups and their families, so they reintegrate socially and economically. In a public event, a production project of transformation of milk was inaugurated.
During the event, the Asociación Apias de San Rafael was officially handed over and an endowment of equipment, which has a capacity to process 800 liters of milk and transform them into cheese and other dairy products for daily use for families.
The project, which has 33 members according to the representative of the association, will improve the quality of life of the beneficiaries, their families and the other inhabitants of this municipality, which was once a violence zone.
The event was in the same way accompanied by officials of the Mayor's Office of Ovejas, the United Nations (UN) and the Fundación Evolución Caribe
The Colombian Navy will continue to provide support to state institutions to implement productive projects that guarantee the necessary conditions to access the social and economic benefits of former FARC-EP members, while continuing to guarantee their security, in order to contribute to their social reintegration into normal life.
