The permanent implementation of unified ground operations in the Department of Guaviare, within the framework of the National Army's security and territorial control strategy, manages to counteract the criminal activity of the residual organized armed group, Gao-r, Estructura Primera, managing to decimate and significantly hit alias Iván Mordisco.
The Twenty-Second Brigade of the Jungle, of the Fourth Division, during 2021, with 40 military operations have succeeded in the capture of 27 people for various offences, and the surrender of nine people, who, under the pressure of the troops they gave up and decided to look for the benefits provided by the National Government in the framework of the care program to the demobilized people.
Similarly, in military operations against the forced recruitment of children and adolescents, soldiers recovered two minors of the ranks of these groups outlaw.
In the same way, illicit activities such as drug trafficking have been attacked, through the destruction of 26 laboratories for the production of coca paste, the destruction of 64 seedbeds and the eradication of 370 hectares of illicit plantations, dealing blows against this problem.
Similarly, the finding and destruction of 86 anti-personnel mines and 18 improvised explosive devices has been achieved, which according to military intelligence would be planted in sectors of the Department of El Guaviare, where illicit plantation eradication is currently being carried out and in areas used by civilians in zones apparently under the control of the GAO-R.
On the other hand, and as part of the commitment of the troops to the protection and conservation of the environment, in the framework of Operation Artemisa, approximately 11 thousand trees native to the region were planted in the municipalities of San José del Guaviare, Miraflores, El Retorno, and Calamar.
In this way, the strategy against threats in 2021 already leaves heavy and positive results, not only in terms of security but in the purpose of preserving the Natural Resources, fauna and flora of the region of La Esperanza.
