With various activities carried out over the weekend, especially on 8 March, the soldiers of this unit extol the performance of women in society.
The Fifth Brigade of the National Army, the Second Division, pays a special tribute in the framework of the International Women's Day, with the accompaniment of the female staff of health of the Clinic of Bucaramanga and the University Hospital of Santander, where the soldiers of Colombia arrived to exalt the arduous work done by these women who battle on the front line from a year ago against the COVID–19.
Since very early, military personnel walked the halls of these medical centers and distributed 2,125 flowers and a message of admiration for their work, as well as encouragement messages to the patients and companions in these units. Similarly, in the Government of Santander, accompanied by the Social Manager Genny Sarmiento, the soldiers paid tribute to those women who work day by day for the Department.
In the same way, this unit carried out support to various activities such as the women's sports activity conducted in the Olympic Village by the women's Secretariat and on Sunday in the Fuchsia route, with a route of 9 kilometers via La Mesa de los Santos with the attendance of about 270 women cyclists.
This is how the National Army, aware of the important role that women play in society, exalts and admires their courage, dedication and sacrifice in each operation they carry out, transforming and working for themselves and for the rest of the people on what is necessary to build a better environment and future.
