With the aim of providing all the necessary conditions for the National Vaccination Plan against COVID-19, the Colombian Air Force arranged aircraft and helicopters to transport about 17,000 doses of vaccines to the most remote places in the Department of Antioquia.
The transport of these vaccines is part of the first phase, corresponding to medical personnel in the front line of care and older adults who are in rural and difficult to access areas.
About 10,000 doses were transported in a Caravan aircraft to the municipalities of Caucasia and Apartadó, accompanied by of officials of the Ministry of Health and the National Police.
The mission was in the same way accomplished by a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter, which took off from the Air Combat Command No.5 in Rionegro, approximately with 7,000 doses of Sinovac, reaching Urrao, Fredonia and Ciudad Bolívar, in southwestern Antioquia.
