The contraband would have an approximate cost of more than 56 million pesos.
During a river surveillance and security operation carried out by troops of the twenty-eighth Brigade, a military unit of the Eighth Division of the National Army, 2,016 gallons of smuggled gasoline were seized on two boats while they were transiting through the Maviso sector, on the Guaviare River, in the Guainía Department.
The material found had been purchased in Colombia at a subsidized price of 10 thousand pesos per gallon, and intended to be sold in Venezuela at 28 thousand pesos obtaining an approximate profit of more than 56 million pesos.
During the operation no arrests were reported, while the material was put into custody of the authorities for not complying with the sail permits, permit and biker accreditation issued by the Ministry of Transport.
