In addition to the mass transfers of patients with COVID-19, the Colombian Air Force transported hope, leading to the remotest places, in helicopters, UH-60 Black Hawk and in aircraft C-208 Caravan, most of 45,800 doses of vaccines against this virus.
This is the fourth distribution of vaccines that is carried out in regions such as Bajo Cauca and Southwest Antioquia, to benefit the inhabitants in the first and second phase, which would complete their vaccination when receiving the two doses.
In the municipalities of Caucasia, Apartadó, Fredonia, Ciudad Bolívar and Urrao, representatives of the health secretariats arrived to receive with great enthusiasm the vaccines that will help reduce the risk of complications and death because of this pandemic.
Facing the weather adversities in different areas of the department and reaching where no one else arrives, crews of the Air Combat Command no.5 have their knowledge and expertise to enter hard-to-reach areas, successfully accomplishing the mission, transporting vaccines.
