Soldiers carry out the controlled destruction of explosive devices planted by GAO ELN
The neutralization of this terrorist operation is the result of the military demining that is being carried out in this municipality of Urabá Antioquia, whose purpose is to protect the indigenous communities, the black communities and peasant communities of the region.
Troops of the Voltígeros Battalion of the 17th Brigade neutralize two explosive devices of high destructive power in the sector known as Bachidubi, a reserve of Murindó River, a place where Indigenous people and peasants transit. At the site the controlled destruction of these devices was carried out, which had been planted by terrorists of the Manuel Hernández El Boche front of the organized armed group, GAO - Eln.
In the area where these devices were found by troops and destroyed, at least 60 people from Indigenous and peasant communities transit daily. In the rural areas of Murindó, military demining continues, with the aim of declaring this area free of suspicion of anti-personnel mines.
In the same way, the military and police operations against Organized Armed Groups such as the Eln and GAO Clan del Golfo do not stop; as well as the operation against drug trafficking, the main generator of violence in the region and source of funding of these groups to commit criminal operations against the people and the Military Forces.
