In a new mission, the Colombian Air Force carried out the aeromedical transfer of a patient with COVID-19 from the department of Chocó to the capital city of the country, in order to provide better hospital care due to the critical situation facing this region against the Coronavirus.
The Colombian Air Force, in coordination with the National Personnel Recovery Center (CNRP), continues to carry out aeromedical transfers in the fight against the lethal enemy. On this occasion, the aeromedical transfer of an older man with a diagnosis of COVID-19 was carried out; he required more complex hospital care.
This transfer was carried out in an ambulance aircraft King 350, which left of the Military Transport Air Command (CATAM), to transfer him to Bogotá; during the flight the patient was assisted by the medical team, which was responsible for keeping him stable. Similarly, it should be noted that the aircraft had all the necessary instruments to ensure the health of the patient during the flight, in the same way complying with biosecurity protocols.
