The man was receiving seven million pesos as a result of extortion against a merchant.
In the frame of Operation Pedro Pascasio Martínez, troops of the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) Cundinamarca, of the Thirteen Brigade of the National Army, in coordination with the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Prosecutor's Office, arrest a man in flagrante delicto, when he was receiving money from extortion.
The alleged extortionist was collecting seven million pesos from a merchant in Barrio Alamos, in Bogotá, whom he was threatening to attack against his physical condition or that of his family, if he refused to access his monetary extortions, this individual in the same way posed as a member of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, ELN, with the aim of exerting pressure on the victim and thus get the money.
The arrested individual was put into custody of the 113th Prosecutor's Office delegated to the Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group), for the crime of extortion.
The National Army, through the Thirteen Brigade, reiterates the invitation to citizens to report crimes such as kidnapping and extortion through the free line 147 of the Military Gaula.
