In a decisive joint, coordinated and interagency operation conducted by the Colombian Air Force, the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) of the Army, Brigade 16, the National Police and the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Prosecutor's Office, five alleged members of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo, were arrested in the urban area of the municipality of Yopal and the municipality of Paz de Ariporo, Casanare.
The detainees were required by the Attorney General's Office for the crimes of aggravated extortion and association to commit aggravated crimes, which were identified as alias Guate, alias Gordo, alias Pichón, alias Beluzia and alias Naco.
The men were put into custody of the authority, for its prosecution process for the alleged crimes of association to commit aggravated crimes and aggravated extortion.
With this heavy blow it is possible to reduce criminal intelligence for terrorist purposes against the Military Forces, as well as directly harm the economic system, attacking the illegal income product of aggravated extortion of civilians, including merchants, ranchers and contractors of the department of Casanare.
