In order to support economic growth, soldiers of the National Army, in coordination with municipal and departmental authorities, have managed to transport agricultural products to be marketed in Villavicencio, Meta.
By water and land, men of the Comprehensive Action Support Battalion No.4, the Meteoro Light Cavalry Group No.6 and the Fe in Colombia program of the National Army, help peasants with the transport of about 50 tons of agricultural products of the Ariari region.
In a coordinated work through the Program Fe en Colombia with different government institutions, it has been possible to make about ten markets of peasant food in different sectors such as the Galleria 7 de Agosto, the Los Fundadores Park and residential units of the city of Villavicencio, helping peasants with the loading and unloading of food, as well as its transport and subsequent commercialization.
With the sale of products such as banana, cassava, chicken, eggs, yogurt, avocado, passion fruit, pineapple, among others, around 50 farming families have benefited in the municipalities of Granada, Guamal, Lejanias, Fuentedeoro and Puerto Concordia, which thanks to the support of the National Army have marketed directly and without intermediaries their products to the inhabitants of Villavicencio.
Thus, through the Resources of Comprehensive Action, the National Army seeks to promote the economic reactivation and rural development of small producers in this area of the country, achieving a positive impact on their lives, eliminating the barriers of intermediaries and bringing agricultural products to the tables of Colombian families.
