In Ibagué, Tolima, Operation Hidra was carried out in a joint, coordinated and interagency effort conducted by the Colombian Air Force, the National Army, the National Police and the Attorney General's Office that led to the arrest by court order of 11 people in the San Isidro, Granada, Ricaurte and Mirador neighborhoods.
During the operation, eight search procedures were carried out and these arrests were made for the offences of using minors for the group of offences, association to commit aggravated offences and trafficking, manufacture or carrying of narcotic drugs.
In the course of the investigation, it was possible to establish that this criminal organization allegedly interfered in locality 13 of Ibagué, especially in the Granada and San Isidro neighborhoods, where they exercised their criminal activity near schools, having children and adolescents among their main victims; in addition they used minors for the sale of narcotics. In the same way, these individuals used communication radios and binoculars to supervise the territory and evade the authorities.
During the operation, they found a revolver-type firearm with 11 38-caliber cartridges, a cigarette-making machine, 110 doses of cocaine, 217 doses of marijuana, a precision scale, four cell phones, two 9MM-caliber cartridges, a changon-type rudimentary firearm (Ithaca), a 12-caliber cartridge, a communications radio, a long-range binoculars and 57,000 pesos in cash.
