Alias Javier, is among those arrested. He is accused of being the urban ringleader of this organized armed group, who would be carrying out several criminal operations that generated anxiety in the community.
Through coordinated and inter-institutional operations, troops of the National Army, National Police and Attorney General's office made the arrest In flagrante delicto of five people, who would become part of the urban structure of the Organised Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo, in the municipality of Riohacha, La Guajira.
In support of the search procedures, the troops of the Guajira Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) find these individuals, who were arrested in different parts of the municipality.
Among those arrested is alias Javier, accused of being the ringleader of this criminal structure in the city of Riohacha, who is in the same way the alleged perpetrator of selective homicides of merchants in the region, as well as apparently the responsible for coordinating kidnappings and extortions against the inhabitants of this area.
Along with him, four more members of this criminal structure were arrested, who were reportedly linked to various operations carried out in the departments of Cesar and La Guajira.
During the operation it was possible to find firearms, war cartridges, magazines, clothing for the exclusive use of the Military Forces and communication equipment.
The individuals were put into custody of the authorities to continue their judicial process, where they will be responsible for the crimes of aggravated homicide; manufacture, trafficking, bearing or possession of firearms, accessories, parts or ammunition and manufacture, trafficking and bearing of narcotics.
