With the aim of providing a health and well-being services to the inhabitants of Leticia, Amazonas, the Colombian Air Force led the Activity to Support the Binational Development conducted by Brazil and Colombia in 2021, which took place at the Escuela Normal Superior Sede C, where hundreds of people arrived to receive specialized medical assistance.
On this occasion, the activity was carried out in partnership with the Hands Painted in Blue Foundation and the SOLIMOES Battalion of the Brazilian Army, which in the same way had the important support of the General Command of the Military Forces (COGFM), the Air Operations Command (COAES), the Comprehensive Action Center (CEAIN), the Amazon Coast Guard Command (CGAMA), the Jungle Brigade No.26, the Departmental Health Secretary, the Municipal Health Secretary, the National Lands Agency, the Social Prosperity office and the Caja de Compensación del Amazonas CAFAMAZ.
Thanks to this coordination, 1,125 medical treatments were carried out in pediatrics, nutrition, psychology, orthopedics, physiotherapy, gynecology, dentistry, urology, speech therapy, internal medicine and general medicine in which it was in the same way possible to distribute medications. In the same way, accompanied by of Captain Paz and the inflatables in the shape of the powerful Caravan C-208, recreational and cultural activities were made for children, in addition to the distribution of donations such as clothes, school kits, shoes and toys with which more than 2,000 people benefited.
In this way, the Colombian Air Force, through this kind of inter-agency initiatives, seeks to strengthen ties of partnership with the brother country of Brazil, the Military Forces, public and private institutions of the department, with the aim of improving the quality of life of their inhabitants; to ensure the right to health of the most vulnerable communities who live in remote areas in the south of the country.
