As part of the operation carried out by the Military forces against Organized Armed Groups that commit crimes in the Colombian Pacific, the Colombian Navy and the National Army found and destroyed an illegal laboratory for processing coca base in the sector known as Bocas de Chapetón, in the municipality of Guapi, Cauca.
Within this structure of drug trafficking were found 566 kilograms of coca leaf, 815 gallons of liquid precursors, 24 plastic barrels, 25 kilograms of fertilizer, 7 bags of gray cement, a coca leaf grinder, two scales and other elements used to achieve the narcotic. According to Colombian Navy intelligence, the laboratory belongs to the Organized Armed Group (residual) Estructura 30 Rafael Aguilera.
It is noteworthy that the residues of these chemical substances are left by the members of these criminal groups, indiscriminately in the soils and water sources around the complex, contaminating the environment considerably.
This year, the Pacific Naval Force has found and destroyed 27 laboratories for the processing of coca base paste, more than 11 thousand gallons of liquid precursors and more than three thousand kilograms of solid precursors.
