Tumaco, Nariño, October 14, 2021. In compliance with the Plan of Campaign of the Bicentenary Heroes de la Libertad, the Joint Task Force of the Stabilisation and Consolidation Hercules is in joint military operation conducted by the National Army, The Navy, The Colombian Air Force, coordinated with the National Police and inter agency with the office of the Prosecutor General of the Nation. It was possible to find and destroy a hideout and two complexes used for the production of cocaine hydrochloride in the village Congal, municipality of Tumaco, Nariño.
In the operation, 14 structures were dismantled. They had the capacity to produce 3,000 kilograms per month of narcotics and the different phases of production of coca base paste and crystallization of cocaine hydrochloride, as well as their pressing and packaging.
Within these complexes, were found by troops 2,065 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride, 222.3 kilograms of coca base paste, 5,925 kilograms of solid precursors, 4,750 gallons of liquid precursors, 180 gallons of fuel, 800 kilograms of food, machinery, equipment and other elements used to achieve the narcotics. The structures and material found were destroyed at the scene.
According to intelligence information, the laboratories belong to the Residual Organized Armed Group Los Contadores and the so called United Guerrillas of the Pacific. With this decisive result, the financial structure of these criminal groups that perpetrate drug trafficking in the Pacific region of Nariño will be hit, since they no longer will receive nearly $ 101 million COP from the commercialization of cocaine on the international market. In the same way, the distribution of approximately 7,500,000 doses on the streets of the world is prevented.
It should be noted that, for the construction of these structures, criminal organizations invaded more than one hectare of natural resources, significantly damaging the environment. In addition, the residues of the chemical substances are thrown indiscriminately in the soils and water sources around the complexes, becoming these a primary source of pollution in the area.
The Colombian Military Forces, in their coordinated work with the different institutions that work in the territory, maintain their permanent commitment to ensure the security and tranquility of the citizens who live on the pacific coast of Nariño.
