During the operations, 21 laboratories belonging to Farc dissidents were destroyed and one person was arrested.
The Colombian Navy, in joint military operations with the Colombian Army, the Colombian Air Force and coordinated with the National Police, dealt a severe blow to drug trafficking structures in the departments of Caquetá, Putumayo, Guaviare and Meta, finding and destroying 21 laboratories for the production of coca base paste and managing to arrest a man for the alleged crime of trafficking, manufacturing or carrying narcotics.
Within the illegal structures were found by troops 460 kilograms of coca base paste, 1,328 kilograms of chopped coca leaf, 1,925 kilograms of solid precursors and 2,985 gallons of liquid precursors, apparently belonging to Organized Armed Groups that commit crimes in the south-east of the country.
These laboratories would have the capacity to produce approximately 1,350 kilograms of coca base paste per month, which, in turn would produce 1,620 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride, and so it represents a loss of more than 95 million dollars for structures serving drug trafficking.
In addition, troops of the Navy River Battalion No.33, attached to the Southern Naval Force together with the National Police of Solano, Caquetá, arrest an individual belonging to the Residual Structures Support Network (RAER) of the Residual Organized Armed Group, GAO-r, Miller Perdomo structure. According to information provided by Colombian Navy intelligence, the individual was in charge of transporting food for the criminal structure over Santo Domingo, on the Caguán river.
The man was arrested for the alleged crime of trafficking, manufacturing or carrying narcotics (Art. 376 of the Penal Code) at the time he was traveling on a boat with 107.25 kilograms of coca base paste, it would cost approximately 300 million pesos. The material and the individual arrested were put into custody of the authorities.
The structures, the solid and liquid precursors were destroyed in a controlled and authorized manner by the institution, on the scene, following the safety standards for this type of procedures, preserving all measures for the care of the environment.
