In the course of the year, 146.8 tons of cocaine hydrochloride and 46.2 tons of marijuana have been found in the Pacific, damaging the finances of criminal groups in the service of drug trafficking by approximately $ 5 billion dollars.
These findings prevented the distribution of more than one million 700 thousand doses of narcotics on the streets of the world.
In the operation against the chain of drug trafficking carried out by the Colombian Navy in the Pacific, decisive blows were dealt against dissident groups of the Farc, Organized Armed Groups and organized criminal groups who perpetrate drug trafficking, with the finding of 958 kilograms of drugs.
Naval Intelligence information and the permanent military control and river security operations, carried out by Navy Infantry troops, in a joint, coordinated and inter-institutional manner with the National Police, the National Army and the Attorney General's Office, led to the finding of two illegal boats abandoned on the Naya River, in a rural area of the municipality of Buenaventura. When reviewing these, it was established that they had a double bottom and inside 666 rectangular packets, which contained 668 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride.
In the same way, in river operations carried out in the municipality of López de Micay, department of Cauca, three packages containing 5.8 kilograms of coca base paste were found by troops inside, at the time they were transported on board a boat.
In other operations in the department of Chocó, troops of navy could achieve the finding of 290 kilograms of marijuana, apparently belonging to the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo at different points in Nuquí and Juradó, where they found packages with a plant substance similar to marijuana; immediately the material was put into custody of the public Prosecutor, who established that it was marijuana.
According to investigations, these decisive blows represent a blow of more than $ 24 million dollars to the finances of illegal drug trafficking groups, who profit of these money from the illegal trafficking and commercialization of drugs in countries of the region.
