This joint, coordinated and interagency operation carried out by the Colombian Army, the Colombian Navy, the Colombian Air Force, the National Police and the Attorney General's Office resulted in the arrest of 18 individuals and 8 notices of arrest in prisons of alleged members of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golf, who were allegedly committing crimes in Magangué, Cartagena, Medellín and San Andrés and Providencia.
These individuals who carried out criminal activities, were required by the First Municipal Criminal Court Against Organized Crime in the city of Cartagena, Bolívar, which issued the warrants of arrest for the alleged offences of conspiracy to commit crimes of aggravated homicide, trafficking, manufacture or carriage of narcotic substances and manufacturing, traffic, or bearing of firearms or ammunition.
Among those arrested are Álvaro José Barrios Díaz aka El Abogado, alleged head of the substructure, as well as Ronny Zúñiga Zúñiga aka Ronny, alleged head of drug trafficking in San Andrés and Providencia, Edwin Javier Álvarez Caicedo aka Mi Tío, alleged head of hitmen, and Ismael Enrique Miranda Pereira aka Ismael, alleged coordinator of drug trafficking and firearms trafficking.
