The Vulcano Task Force managed to neutralize a prepared area, which was intended to be used by drug cartels to beat the community and Military Forces.
Carrying out military control operations over the area, troops of the National Army, through the Vulcano Task Force, neutralize a terrorist operation that members of the residual Organized Armed Group, GAO-r, Structure 33, allegedly intended to carry out in the urban area of the municipality of La Gabarra, in the municipality of Tibú, Norte de Santander.
After detecting the threat, members of the Military Forces of the Special Explosives and Demolitions Group (EXDE) of the Ground Operations Battalion No.9, complying with security protocols, established that it was three means of launching cylindrical metallic devices, which had been located in the central cemetery of the municipality; troops achieved with their Resources, the protection of the good physical condition of the civilians of the sector.
Simultaneously in the Serpentino village of the municipality of Tibú, members of the Military Forces of the Engineer Battalion No.30, found a dump truck with eight containers apparently containing fuel substances, which were intended to be marketed and used for the manufacture of coca base paste; they would belong to the GAO ELN.
The National Army rejects these unconventional means and methods of warfare, which are systematically used by organized Armed Groups for the purpose of attacking the civilians and Military Forces, in flagrant violation of International Humanitarian Law.
