After intelligence work, it was possible to prevent the illegal purchase and sale of war materiel, which becomes the crime of illegal carrying and trafficking of firearms for the exclusive use of the Military Forces, which would apparently be committed by those accused of being members of the residual Organized Armed Group, GAO-r, Structure 48.
In the course of joint military operations against the residual GAO, troops of the National Army, with the support of the Southern Naval Force, arrived at the municipality of La Cabaña, municipality of Puerto Asís, Putumayo, where two individuals were apparently preparing the illegal negotiation of firearms and ammunition.
After the arrival of the members of the Military Forces, a firefight occurred. As a result, the individual known as Puntilla, accused of being a member of GAO-r Structure 48, self-named Comandos de Frontera, was neutralized during military operations.
This man would be accused of being an alleged agitator, as well as of coercing civilians under threats to carry out blockades against the eradication operations in the department, and impede the production of fuel companies in this area of the municipality of Puerto Asís. He would in the same way be in charge of collecting coca base paste and carrying out criminal intelligence on the Military Units in this zone which is an area of interference in the villages of La Carmelita, la Cabaña and Nuevo Porvenir.
The man accused of being alias Carlos was arrested in flagrante delicto and was given to the authorities for the crimes of trafficking and illegal possession of weapons.
In action it was possible to find two pistols, 10 magazines, a hand grenade, 165 units of ammunition of different calibers and cash.
With this result, the purchase and sale of war material for criminal purposes in this region of the Colombian Amazon have been hit.
