This laboratory belonged to the Organized Armed Group residual, GAO-residual, Seventh Structure and produced half a ton of cocaine hydrochloride each month, valued at more than three billion pesos.
In the framework of the Bicentenary Campaign Plan Héroes de la Libertad and Operation José Inocencio Chincá, troops of the National Army in a military operation coordinated with the National Police, in a wooded area of the municipality of Argelia, in the municipality of Puerto Rico, Meta, found and dismantled a laboratory of the residual Organized Armed Group, GAO-r, Seventh Structure.
When searching, four wooden structures with plastic and canvas roofs were found by troops. In addition, 750 kilograms of solid precursors, 1,505 gallons of liquid precursors and elements for drug production were found by troops, costing approximately 209 million pesos.
The laboratory and the material found were destroyed on site to prevent this residual GAO from continuing the illicit production of the drug. With this result, the Army and the Police manage to hit one of the main sources of income of this criminal structure.
In the anti-drug operation in 2021, troops of the Seventh Brigade have dismantled eight laboratories for production coca base paste and five for production cocaine hydrochloride in different areas of the department of Meta.
