In response to alerts of new fire spots in the El Tuparro Natural National Park, in Vichada, Colombian Air Force aircraft went to fly over the area and establish the magnitude of the conflagration.
There are more than 15 thousand hectares of native vegetation and grasslands that have been hit by the flames. Air Force crews continue to fly over the area, to establish points that stop the advance of the fires.
The Air Force's Boeing 727 aircraft transported troops of the National Army and the Police, who flew from the Military Transport Air Command in Bogotá to the Eastern Air Group in Marandúa, Vichada, where all operations are coordinated.
