After listening to community leaders of the municipality of Fundación, in Magdalena, Defense Minister Diego Molano announced greater military and police work in this region, the strengthening of the Secure Farms program and the construction of a police station and a military bridge for the benefit of the communities.
These were the conclusions of the security meeting that took place in the sports center of the municipality of Sacramento, with the participation of 30 community leaders in which the minister listened to the community about security and tranquility issues.
In the meeting in the same way were the Commander of the Second Brigade of the National Army, Colonel Luis Eduardo Cifuentes, and the Commander (temporary) of the Magdalena Police Department, Colonel Andrés Serna, it was decided to strengthen civic participation networks, through the Secure Farms program, which seeks to prevent crimes by means of alerts and information that peasants and inhabitants of the municipalities can give to members of the Military Forces.
On the other hand, Minister Molano revealed that from now on there will be more work by Military Forces in some sectors of the municipality of Fundación. “With the High Mountain Battalion we will do more military work in the sectors of Santa Clara, El Limón, Sacramento, and especially in the line that leads from the sectors of Santa Rosa to El Cincuenta,” explained the chief of Defense.
As a result of the participatory and constructive dialogue with the community leaders of Fundacion, and in response to the requirements of their needs, it was decided that the Military Engineers will install a military bridge in the sector of the El Limón stream, in order to solve the mobility problem expressed by the inhabitants of the municipality of Sacramento.
Finally, it was announced the beginning of the project for the construction of the police station for the municipality of Santa Rosa de Lima which will be a joint work conducted by the National Police and the Municipal Mayor's Office in order to strengthen police work in the sector.
