This area was made up of seven high-powered IEDs and three launch pads.
Troops of the Eighth Division of the National Army in an operation interinstitutional with the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps), the Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group), by using reconnaissance point, find a mined area planted by the Organized terrorist Armed Group (residual GAO-r) Substructure 28, made up of powerful seven improvised explosive devices and three launching pads, which were united with around 40 meters of detonating cord, on the main road to enter the municipality of Sacama, in the department of Casanare.
With this operation a potential terrorist attack against civilians was thwarted since these explosives had the capacity to be activated in series by means of radio frequency and were fed with energy through the battery of a motorcycle. When activated, these explosive devices would have hit an area of more than 50 meters, damaging the good physical condition of society and infrastructure.
Immediately, thanks to the urgent call of society and with an effective intelligence, the security operation was activated and established to carry out the controlled destruction of the mined area through the techniques and tactics of the Special Group of Explosives and Demolitions EXDE of the National Army, using the Resources of the anti-explosive canine. These devices were planted and conditioned to be activated to the side of the road.
The National Army will once again will make the necessary denunciations since the use of illegal means and methods of warfare by members of organized armed groups in the fields and roads of our areas of responsibility, have the sole objective of causing serious injury, mutilation and even death to civilians and our soldiers, thus attacking Human rights and violating International Humanitarian Law.
