At the end of the first month of 2022, the National Army in joint, coordinated and inter-institutional operations has produced heavy results against organized armed groups.
The National Army, through troops of the Twenty-Second Jungle Brigade, in the department of Guaviare, carries out military operations in the municipalities of San José, Calamar, Miraflores, El Retorno, and Puerto Concordia in the Meta, to work for institutional control of the territory, strengthening the socioeconomic development of the region.
So far, in the course of military operations during the month of January of this year, 28 people have been arrested in Guaviare for various crimes, such as extortion, trafficking, manufacturing or carrying drugs, and illegal carrying of firearms trafficking, among others. In the same way, 14 other operations are conducted to support the operation against the armed structures.
In heavy blows against drug trafficking, 58 seedbeds and 119,500 seeds for the production of coca bush have been found, the elements have been destroyed to prevent illicit plantations. In the same way, 25 laboratories for the production of coca base paste, and about three tons of solid precursors have been destroyed.
In the most relevant action of the last few days, soldiers of Infantry Battalion No.19 found an illegal fuel hideout in the municipality of La Costeñita, in San José del Guaviare, apparently belonging to the residual Organized Armed Group, GAO-r, Estructura Primera, in which 275 gallons of gasoline, 385 gallons of DIESEL and 12 55-gallon plastic barrels were found by troops. The cost of fuel would cost approximately more than seven million pesos.
The National Army in Guaviare will continue to carry out military operations to counter the criminal operations of armed groups, which impede social and economic progress in the region; Soldiers in this region will maintain the frontal fight against drug trafficking and the different factors of instability.
