The Colombian Air Force through the Air Combat Command No.1 this year has carried out decisive joint military operations with the National Army, coordinated with the National Police and inter-institutional with the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Attorney General's Office to destabilize these criminal groups that threaten the security of Colombians in Magdalena centro region.
Thus, five decisive operations have been carried out against the Organized Armed Groups, GAO, ELN and GAO Clan del Golfo, with the following results:
It was possible to neutralize 10 alleged members of the Rubén Darío Ávila Martínez Substructure, of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo, in the municipality of El Socorro, in Antioquia.
Three cocaine production laboratories were found by troops and neutralized in Norte de Santander, where the Organized Armed Group, GAO, ELN, Structure 33, has been hit economically by more than 171 billion pesos, with the finding of 6,168 Kg of cocaine hydrochloride, 1,908 Kg of coca base paste, more than 1,000 Kg of solid precursors and more than 46 thousand gallons of liquid precursors.
Against the crime of theft of farm animals through a coordinated operation with the National Police and, thanks to information provided by the Network of Civic Participation of this Military Air Unit it was possible to recover 42 units of livestock that would cost more than 150 million pesos: they had been stolen from farmers of the department of Caldas.
In the same way, these joint operations, coordinated and inter-institutional in which the Air Force participates with strength, intelligence, air image analysis, and aircraft that contribute to the safety of the troops on the ground, has led to the confiscation of firearms, mobile equipment and the finding of abundant equipment that were used for the production and distribution of drugs.
