In order to contribute to the education of children and adolescents, for almost two weeks soldiers of the National Army conducted social work in this municipality.
Soldiers of the Comprehensive Action Battalion No.1 in support of the Medium Combined arms Task Force have been carrying out work to improve and restore the physical infrastructure of the Isidro Ibarra School and the Jaipa School, as in Uribia.
This is the result of a coordinated work with the Municipal Mayor's Office, teachers and people, they sought to improve and adapt the conditions of the Institutions and their schools, which are attended by students of the indigenous communities of Guarerapu and Jaipa, settled in Uribia, La Guajira.
During the social work, the National Army hand in hand with the inhabitants of Uribia carried out activities such as: environmental activities, cinema in the park, sports tournaments, clown and puppet shows, among other initiatives that build territory and promote development in the regions.
