The Colombian Navy carried out the evacuation of a tourist of Swiss nationality who suffered a fall on board the sailboat she was traveling on, when she was sailing in Santa Marta, Magdalena.
The facts were reported through the emergency call by a crew member of a yacht Avontouur with French flag, which reported the situation occurred to one of his cruise companions, who would have fallen within the ship suffering from a possible fracture in her knee and bruises all over the body, by which it requested permission to arrive at the port of Santa Marta.
The ship was traveling from Guadeloupe, France, bound for Puerto Limón, Costa Rica and was monitored by the traffic control and maritime surveillance Station, which coordinated the required medical assistance on land, while a rapid reaction unit of the Santa Marta Coast Guard Primary Station moved to the emergency site and carried out the disembarkation and evacuation of the 25-year-old woman, for her quick and safe transfer to the International dock of the Navy, from where she was taken by ambulance by a team of health professionals to a medical center in the city.
