In compliance with the Heroes de la Libertad Bicentenary Campaign Plan, the Hercules Joint Stabilization and Consolidation Task Force, in a military operation conducted by the National Navy, and interinstitutional with the Attorney General's Office, carried out the search and destruction of a narcotics storage center, in the municipality of Mosquera, in the department of Nariño.
Through operation maneuvers and naval intelligence, troops of the Navy Infantry River Battalion N° 41 and the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Attorney General's Office carried out the finding of this narcotics hideout, inside which 350 kilos of coca paste belonging to the residual organized armed group Western Bloc Alfonso Cano, responsible for homicides, criminal acts and confrontations with other structures that commit crimes such as drug trafficking.
With this result, the illegal finances of this criminal organization are damaged by more than 800 million pesos.
In the course of the operation, where the drug was found, a violent assault occurred in which the members of the Military Forces were doused with gasoline under the threat of setting them on fire if they kept in the place; the above in order to prevent the authorities from carrying out the judicial procedure. For these facts, this command will file criminal denunciations and corresponding legal actions.
