The Colombian National Army, in a joint effort with the Colombian Air Force and coordinated with the National Police, deals another major blow against drug trafficking.
The constant struggle against the factors of instability that are intended to hit the security took place in the department of Norte de Santander, this time in the municipality of Tibú, where troops of the Command against drug Trafficking and Transnational Threats, CONAT, in support of the Second Division, destroyed a mega laboratory that had more than 2,800 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride and about 180 kilograms of coca base paste.
According to military intelligence and after several days of follow-up, members of the Military Forces arrived at the municipality of Corinto, where this decisive result was carried out against those who would be part of the Juan Fernando Porras Martínez Front, of the organized armed group ELN.
Inside this rustic structure, more than 3000 gallons of liquid supplies and 4900 kilograms of solid supplies, such as lime, caustic soda and other chemical precursors used for the production of the drug, were destroyed.
In addition, tools and equipment such as hydraulic presses, compressors, microwave ovens, electric pumps and distillation towers were found.
This complex would be estimated to cost more than four million dollars, money that these outlaw groups seek to illegally finance weapons to attack the Military Forces and civilians.
We continue in the frontal and constant fight against drug trafficking throughout the national territory, providing security and tranquility to the inhabitants of the nation.
