In the course of a joint operation conducted by the Colombian Navy and the National Army, two laboratories used for the production of coca base paste in El Carmen del Darién in the department of Chocó were destroyed. In the inspection of the place, 302 kilograms of coca paste base, 240 kilograms of chopped coca leaf, 25 kilograms of lime, 250 kilograms of cement, 880 gallons of diesel, two shotguns and 34 cartridges of different calibers were found by troops.
The found elements that would be used for the design and production of the drug along with the laboratories were destroyed in the area of operations, while the armament was put into custody of the authorities. With these operations, the Military will continue to weaken the actions and crime of the Organized Armed Groups who commit crimes in this sector in the country.
