The Command of the Joint Stabilization and Consolidation Task Force Hercules informs :
1. On April 04, at approximately 11:00 a.m. in the municipality of El Cucho, municipality of Magüí Payán, according to intelligence information, the intentions of the civilians to carry out an assault against the Military Forces were known.
2. On the day 06 April troops of the Ground Operations Battalion No. 14, in order to prevent confrontations with civilians, they went to the municipality La Loma, in the same municipality, where there was a violent assault against the troops by approximately 500 people, under the constraint of the Franco Benavides structure of the FARC dissidents.
3. Since last 10 April, until the day of today confrontations have taken place against the GAO-r Structure Franco Benavides and the Structure Ariel Aldana, on the villages, Pampeta, Guelpi and the municipality Mouths of Telembí, for the dispute for the drug trade routes and the territorial control of illegal activities of the municipality of Magüí Payán and Roberto Payán.
4. Due to the confrontations of these two structures, 128 families of these villages have been displaced to the municipality of Barbacoas, Nariño, where, according to a report by the people's representative for human rights and the mayor's office, they have entered the municipal shelter.
5. A call is made to the inhabitants of the municipalities damaged by these criminal structures so they do not obstruct military operations against FARC dissidents, since these actions against public servants can be a criminal behavior.
6. The Military Forces and the National Police, in a coordinated manner, have been strengthening military operations in the sector, in order to protect civilians, helping to generate security conditions and work for the enjoyment of the rights of civilians; combating organized armed groups and the different illicit activities in the region, which are the main cause of the displacement of the people.
