In commemoration of International Earth Day soldiers of the Thirteenth Brigade conducted tree planting activities in different parts of Bogotá and the department of Cundinamarca.
In the framework of Operation Artemisa soldiers of the Military Police Battalion No.15 in a coordination of efforts with the environmental and local authorities, arrived at the Romeral village of the municipality of Sibaté in Cundinamarca, to carry out the planting of 2,000 trees native to the region and pay tribute to the planet Earth in its day.
In the same way, soldiers from different units of the Thirteenth brigade together with the community planted trees in Sopó, Villapinzón, Junín and Arbeláez, among other municipalities of Cundinamarca, planting 7,752 trees.
Meanwhile, a group of environmental managers, completed the second Course of Tree Nursery led by the Botanical Garden of Bogotá, an initiative that has been implemented for a couple of years, with the main intention of training soldiers in environmental work so they fulfill this mission with the planet in a more effective way.
The National Army, through the Thirteenth Brigade, seeks to work hand in hand with citizens, to generate awareness about the importance of protecting the environment and biodiversity, an issue that in the future will impact the quality of life of everyone.
