In the course of operations carried out by the National Army jointly and coordinated with the Air Force and the Police, it was found and dismantled a laboratory used for the production of cocaine hydrochloride, in the Caño Negro village, rural area of Tibú, Norte de Santander.
Through air assault maneuvers, the troops carried out the operation, and found two individuals at the scene, who would be members of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, ELN. These men were arrested in flagrante delicto.
Minutes later, a minor and a woman arrived at the site. They had in their possession some sheets of paper, written by a third party, where the military was invited to “fix” the situation in progress, such an arrangement was nothing more than a bribe that started at 80 million pesos, which later increased to 100 million. The members of the Military Forces rejected the offer, adhering to the principles and values of institutional transparency.
The two arrested will have to answer to the authorities for trafficking, manufacture or carrying of narcotic drugs and trafficking of substances for the production of narcotics.
In the illegal laboratories, and with the company of the Police, 629 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride and another 457 kilograms of coca paste were found by troops, along with solid and liquid supplies, which were to be used in the process. In the same way, a pistol with several cartridges, two communication radios and seven cell phones were in the same way found. These people and the material were put into custody of the authority to conduct the respective prosecution process.
This operation hit this illegal group by more than 4,000 million pesos, a result that complements a line of decisive operations that have continuously been conducted in this region.
