The cocaine hydrochloride production laboratory was reportedly producing one and a half tons of the narcotic a month, which has significantly impacted the environment and public health.
After the soldiers infiltrated the heart of the jungle by land in the Mapiripán municipality, Meta, the wooden structure of more than 12 meters was found and destroyed, which inside housed approximately 177 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride. The material found, the structure and the estimate monthly production of the drug would be about 858,000 million pesos.
The joint, coordinated and inter-institutional operation of the National Army, the Colombian Navy, the Air Force, the National Police and the Attorney General's Office has a positive impact on public health by putting approximately more than one million personal doses of the narcotic out of circulation.
In the laboratory was in the same way found materials for the production of this drug, such as liquid precursors, including 290 gallons of diesel fuel, 670 gallons of acetone, 128 gallons of hydrochloric acid, 130 kg of activated carbon, 200 kilograms of calcium chloride and 125 kg of caustic soda, among others.
The spillage of these precursors to produce cocaine hydrochloride generates serious consequences for the surrounding water sources, as well as for the fauna and flora.
In the search carried out by the soldiers, ten microwave ovens, a hydraulic press, a vacuum packing machine, two electric pumps, a washing machine and a heat chamber were in the same way found, among other elements whose cost would be more than 30 million pesos.
With these laboratories, the residual Organized Armed Group, GAO-r, the First front Armando Ríos Structure seeks to strengthen its armed structure with the illicit drug trafficking revenues.
This military operation complements the operations carried out by the Military Forces and the National Police against this structure, as well as the efforts of the National Army to reforest the jungle in the framework of Operation Artemisa.
