The individuals would be members of a transnational network that commit crimes such as drug trafficking, with movements of approximately five tons of cocaine hydrochloride in the last year, cocaine that would cost about 400,000 million pesos, about US$ 103,000.000.
Troops of the National Army, in a military operation, interinstitutional with the Prosecutor's office, arrested two people accused of being alias Danny and alias Bas, wanted for extradition by the United States District Court of Texas, for the offences of money laundering, conspiracy to commit crimes, drug trafficking and illegal possession of firearms.
The action occurred after a military intelligence work, in which it was possible to confirm the presence of these individuals in the municipality of Turbo, Antioquia, where members of the Military Forces arrived to find and arrest these two people.
Alias Danny apparently served as the main coordinator to bound cocaine hydrochloride to Central America and the United States, he would in the same way be the direct link with the Central Turbo substructure of the GAO Clan del Golfo. For his part, alias Bas would be the alleged person in charge of traveling abroad to coordinate the distribution of the coca base paste; in addition, he would have financed the terrorist attacks against civilians and Military Forces in the Urabá subregion and in the departments of Córdoba and Sucre, during May this year.
The arrested were put into custody of the authority to later be extradited to the United States, where they will have to face charges of illicit drug trafficking and association to commit crimes.
With this important result, the National Army hits illegal financial plans based on drug trafficking, as well as the communication channel with foreign Cartels and residual organized armed groups that commit crimes in the country.
