Alias David, maximum ringleader of the well-known Organised Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo was arrested after a joint operation, coordinated and inter-agency operation conducted by the Colombian Air Force, the National Army and the National Police; a heavy blow was dealt to this gang that was altering the tranquility of the inhabitants of the departments of Meta, Casanare and Cundinamarca.
Alias David was arrested in the village of San Juan del Bosco, in the municipality of Villavicencio; according to the research he has around 22 years committing crimes in 16 municipalities in the departments of Meta, Casanare and Cundinamarca, currently he was at the head of the substructure Gonzalo Oquendo Urrego and was one of the individuals of the GAO Clan del Golfo, listed in the groups of the most wanted by the Military Forces.
After the judicial proceedings carried out by the Attorney General's Office, the man was sentenced to imprisonment and charged with the crimes of association to commit aggravated crimes for the purposes of sending narcotics, extortion, aggravated homicide, manufacture, trafficking and carrying of weapons and ammunition for restricted use of the military Forces.
It should be noted that alias David, in the same way identified by the aliases Santiago, Conchita or Capón has an INTERPOL Blue Notice and his criminal experience links him to different illegal armed groups.
