In the framework of the celebration of the National Day of the Heroes of the Nation and their Families, military and civilian personnel of the Amazonas Air Group, paid a significant tribute to honor the memory of the men wounded and killed in combat, and the sacrifice of their families during the internal armed conflict of the country.
On this occasion, in the facilities of the air base, the National Flag was hoisted at half-mast and a minute of silence took place with the aim of exalting the effort and sacrifice of military and police units who in courageous operations for the defense of the Nation work to provide security and good conditions.
In the same way, the Military Forces and the National Police conducted a symbolic formal ceremony where they offered a wreath laying presided over by Brigadier General Fredy Marlon Coy Villamil, commander of the Sixth Division of the National Army, who is his speech made a tribute to the honor, courage, sacrifice and bravery of the heroes who fulfilled his word of giving everything to protect freedom, safety and peace of the Colombian people, their families and partners.
This is how the Colombian Air Force, through these commemorations, will continue to pay tribute to those officers, non-commissioned officers, soldiers and police officers victims of the armed conflict and in turn he intends to transmit a message of awareness to Colombians, inviting them not to forget those who have given their lives for the defense of sovereignty.
