The military operation took place in the midst of fighting against members of the Eastern war Front of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, ELN.
Thanks to military intelligence work, troops of the National Army jointly, coordinated and interinstitutional with the Colombian Air Force, the National Police and the Attorney General's Office, obtained the finding of a group of the Eastern war Front of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, ELN, in the Caño Guayabo village, of the municipality of Tame, Arauca.
A military operation was immediately carried out against these terrorists, who upon realizing the presence of the aircraft they escaped, not before opening fire against the approaching military units. Due to the quick operation by members of the Military Forces, it was possible to arrest in flagrante delicto one of the criminals, who identifies himself by the alias Peluso. In the search and control of the area troops seized a Galil rifle caliber 5.56 millimeters, an AK-47 rifle, two means of launch, 11 improvised explosive devices, a van-type vehicle, magazines, abundant ammunition of different caliber and material of military accessories.
The arrested man and the material were put into custody of the authorities for their respective judicial process, the explosive material was destroyed in controlled conditions by the anti-explosive experts of the National Army.
