The operations were apparently going to be perpetrated by members of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, ELN and the residual GAO, Structure 33.
In a quick and timely reaction of our soldiers of the Specific Command of Norte de Santander, it was possible to neutralize two terrorist operations against the La Esmeralda military base, in the rural area of Convención, and the La Esperanza military base, in El Tarra, Norte de Santander.
The first act that would be carried out by members of the GAO ELN, occurred the night before, when these individuals prepared a truck loaded with gas cylinder-type explosive devices, to launch them from this place towards the Military Unit.
The soldiers of the Rapid Deployment Force No.3, realizing this intention, engaged combat against these individuals; thus, they secured the sector and neutralized this threat, which sought to hit the soldiers who carry out operations in the area and the people who transit through sectors surrounding the military Unit.
Moreover, today, in the morning hours, our soldiers of the Energy Operational Command No.1, found 10 launch vehicles that had been planted to be used with explosive devices against the facilities of the La Esperanza military base, in a rural area of the municipality of El Tarra, Norte de Santander, apparently by members of the residual GAO, Structure 33.
It is noteworthy that these individuals install the explosives so that in a quick reaction of the soldiers, they are killed with sniper or with the activation of explosive charges.
