After the transit of the Storm Julia over the archipelago of San Andrés y Providencia, as well as through the department of La Guajira. The National Government, in coordination with the National Unit for Disaster Risk Management-UNGRD- and the National Personnel Recovery Center-CENRP of the Colombian Air Force arranged the necessary help to provide support in these areas of the country.
For this reason, the Military Transport Air Command (CATAM) has provided a Boeing 737 to transport more than 13 tons of humanitarian aid quickly and in a timely manner to be distributed to the inhabitants of La Guajira.
The more than 23 tons of cargo made up of mattresses and food kits were received in the morning at the CATAM ramp to be transported in the next few hours by Air Force aircraft.
In an effort against the clock, the Colombian Air Force has made its aircraft, crews, soldiers, and civilian personnel available to carry out the transportation of these aids efficiently and effectively, maintaining the high commitment to help Colombians when they need it most, bringing hope in the midst of this difficult situation.
