Intelligence work carried out by the Colombian Navy and the National Army led to the development of a joint and inter-institutional operation with the Attorney General's Office and the National Police. It was possible to find 500 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride, pistol ammunition and two vehicles that, apparently, would belong to the Organized Armed Group - ELN Front José Daniel Pérez Carrero.
The events occurred in the vicinity of the sector known as Caño Venado, rural area of the Matiyure town, municipality of La Primavera, in the department of Vichada, when the troops were alerted about a shipment of cocaine that was being transported through this area, aboard a van.
At the time of the procedure, and noticing the work of the authorities, the subjects transporting the illegal cargo escaped, leaving behind the vehicle in which they were traveling.
The abandoned van was thoroughly inspected by the troops, who found 500 packages carefully hidden inside tractor tires and some plastic barrels that they had on board. The substance contained the rectangular packages which were tested and which left positive result for cocaine hydrochloride; in the facts, a motorcycle and 11 9-millimeter caliber cartridges were also found.
The material was given to the local authorities in Santa Rosalía -Vichada, while military operations are conducted in the area to find the whereabouts of those responsible for transporting the narcotic, who apparently belong to the GAO - ELN Front José Daniel Pérez Carrero.
