In the Atlantico Governorate facilities, the authorities studied the report on district and departmental security matters.
To open the year in security matters, the personnel of the Colombian Air Force, the National Army, the Colombian Navy, the National Police and both regional and district authorities met at the facilities of the Atlantico Governorate to review the report on the security matters of 2022, which demonstrated decreases in the different crimes, compared to 2021, which was made possible thanks to the coordinated efforts of the Military Forces, consolidating the Atlantico department as the safest in the Caribbean Region, which exalts the importance of joint work, especially thanks to the denunciations which led to strengthen the different security strategies.
In the same way, different challenges raised for 2023, starting with the surveillance and return of tourists of the center of the country who, starting on Friday, begin their return voyages, which count on work for normality in the movements from air and ground, an operation for which the Colombian Air Force will begin work from this Wednesday, with the objective of reporting in real time to the National Police, of any anomaly on the la main road that connects the north with the rest of the country.
In the same way, the preparatory work for the Carnival of Barranquilla will begin, which since the pandemic for the first time will return to its complete normality, for which it is sought to ensure the safety of the thousands of people who arrive in February to the department of Atlántico.
